Terms of Service

Effective date: 22 July 2026

These Terms of Service govern access to and use of Nova Chat. Nova Chat is an independent project published under the NovaCore Studios brand and developed under the public alias BobTheBuildar.

1. Acceptance

By creating an account, installing the application, or using Nova Chat, you agree to these Terms, the Privacy Policy, and the User Agreement. Do not use Nova Chat if you do not agree.

2. Age and authority

You must be at least 14 years old. Users aged 14 or 15 must have permission from a parent or legal guardian where required by law. If you use Nova Chat for an organization, you confirm that you have authority to accept these Terms for that organization.

3. Accounts

• Provide accurate registration information and keep it reasonably current.
• Protect your password, email account, login token, and device.
• Do not sell, transfer, impersonate, or unlawfully access another person’s account.
• Contact thefilelockup@gmail.com promptly if you believe an account has been compromised.

4. Acceptable use

You may not use Nova Chat to:

• break applicable law or encourage illegal conduct;
• threaten, harass, exploit, stalk, or deliberately harm another person;
• share sexual exploitation material, non-consensual intimate material, or content that endangers children;
• distribute malware, phishing, scams, spam, or unauthorized advertising;
• attempt unauthorized access, overload the service, bypass security, or interfere with other users;
• infringe copyright, privacy, trademark, or other rights;
• misrepresent affiliation with Nova Chat, NovaCore Studios, or another person.

5. User content

You retain ownership of content you create and submit. You grant Nova Chat a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, copy, transmit, display, process, resize, and back up that content only as reasonably necessary to provide, secure, moderate, and maintain the service.

You confirm that you have permission to submit your content and that it does not violate these Terms or another person’s rights.

6. Servers and moderation

Server owners and authorized moderators may create rules, manage permissions, remove content, and restrict members. Nova Chat may remove content or suspend access when reasonably necessary to enforce these Terms, respond to reports, protect users, secure the service, or comply with law. Moderation decisions may be made with limited information and are not guaranteed to be error-free.

7. Direct messages and privacy

Direct messages are private from ordinary server members but are not end-to-end encrypted. The service operator may technically access server-stored data in limited circumstances described in the Privacy Policy. Do not use Nova Chat to transmit information that requires a higher level of confidentiality.

8. Alpha software and updates

Nova Chat is currently alpha software. Features may change, malfunction, lose compatibility, or be removed. The application may check for, download, or require updates for security, compatibility, or continued access.

9. Third-party services

Nova Chat may link to or use third-party services such as Contabo, Cloudflare, GitHub, and GIPHY. Those services are governed by their own terms and policies. Nova Chat is not responsible for third-party services outside its reasonable control.

10. Intellectual property

Except for user content and third-party components, Nova Chat software, website materials, original graphics, interface design, text, and branding are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not transfer ownership to you.

11. Suspension and termination

You may stop using Nova Chat at any time and request account deletion by emailing thefilelockup@gmail.com. Access may be suspended or terminated for violations, security risks, abuse, legal requirements, or discontinuation of the service.

12. Service availability

Nova Chat is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. Continuous, secure, or error-free operation is not guaranteed. Maintenance, outages, data loss, and feature changes may occur.

13. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, NovaCore Studios, BobTheBuildar, and project contributors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, lost profits, lost data, or loss of access arising from Nova Chat. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or liability that cannot legally be excluded.

14. Changes

These Terms may be updated as Nova Chat develops. Continued use after an updated version becomes effective means you accept the revised Terms where permitted by law.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Hungary, without limiting mandatory consumer or data-protection rights that apply to you. Courts with lawful jurisdiction in Hungary may hear disputes, subject to mandatory rules that provide otherwise.
