User Agreement
Effective date: 22 July 2026
This User Agreement is a legal agreement between you and the Nova Chat project, publicly operated under the NovaCore Studios brand by developer alias BobTheBuildar.
1. Agreement
By installing, accessing, creating an account for, or using Nova Chat, you accept this User Agreement, the Terms of Service, and the Privacy Policy.
2. Software license
You receive a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the official Nova Chat application for its intended communication functions.
3. Restrictions
Except where applicable law expressly permits it, you may not:
- sell, sublicense, rent, or commercially redistribute the Nova Chat application;
- publish modified installers or claim an unofficial build is an official Nova Chat release;
- remove copyright, attribution, security, or license notices;
- circumvent authentication, permissions, update verification, or service security;
- reverse engineer or extract protected components for an unlawful purpose.
4. Accounts and stored data
Nova Chat stores account information, messages, direct messages, uploads, server memberships, settings, and related service data as described in the Privacy Policy. Direct messages are not end-to-end encrypted. You are responsible for deciding what information you share.
5. Device permissions
Voice, camera, file access, notifications, and screen sharing require device permissions. Nova Chat only accesses those features when the relevant function is used or permission is granted. You can disable permissions through the application or operating-system settings, although some features will stop working.
6. Updates
Nova Chat may check for and install updates. Updates can change functionality, fix security issues, or be required for continued service compatibility. Only obtain installers from the official website or official public release repository.
7. User content
You retain ownership of your content and grant the limited service license described in the Terms of Service. You are responsible for having the rights and permissions required to upload or share that content.
8. Moderation and enforcement
Content or accounts may be removed, restricted, or suspended for violations, credible safety concerns, technical abuse, or legal requirements. Server owners and moderators may enforce additional server-specific rules.
9. No warranty
Nova Chat is alpha software and is provided without guarantees of uninterrupted operation, compatibility, data preservation, or fitness for a particular purpose, to the maximum extent permitted by law.
10. Ending this agreement
You may end this agreement by stopping use, uninstalling Nova Chat, and requesting account deletion at thefilelockup@gmail.com. Provisions concerning intellectual property, user content already processed, disclaimers, and liability may survive where legally appropriate.
